It's December 24th and magical things are happening!

Tomorrow is Christmas Day! Who's excited? We definitely are!  The panic of Christmas shopping is over and it's time to open those special stockings!  But what will you get? Official Olympic and Paralympic posters,new to KKH

Kiss Kiss Heart now stocks the official Olympic and Paralympic artwork for 2012 and posters by artists such as Bridget Riley, Chris Ofili, Howard Hodgkin, Michael Craig-Martin, Rachel Whiteread, Sarah Morris and Tracey Emin, are all framed at £29.99

Above is Swimming by Howard Hodgkin, who describes his paintings as 'representational pictures of emotional situations'.

'For the unknown runner' by Chris Ofili, who uses personal experiences as the inspiration for his paintings and has created a powerful dedication to both Olympic history and the future stars of the London 2012 Games.

'Rose Rose' by Bridget Riley, who is known for both her use of vibrant colours, as well as her manipulation of the relationship between colours and shapes.  For her Olympic print, Riley has arranged colours in horizontal stripes, indicating the direction of athletic tracks or swimming lanes.

LOndOn 2012 by Rachel Whiteread, who has composed a pattern of overlapping rings in the Olympic colours to represent both the emblem of the games, as well as the social gathering itself.

'Birds' by Tracey Emin, who has created her piece in her unique and notable drawing style; taking the Paralympic values of Inspiration and Determination as the starting point for her print.

'Big Ben' by Sarah Morris is a complex, geometric, abstract painting inspired by London and the architectural detail, patterns, signs and symbols of the cityscape.
To celebrate the Paralympic Games coming to London Morris has created an abstract representation of one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, Big Ben, that also evokes images of athletic tracks, swimming lanes, and field markings.

These posters are treasurable repesentations of this iconic event and will make beautiful additions to your home, or perhaps even a winning present for a loved one.

Rochester's Dickensian Christmas market

This weekend is the first weekend that Rochester's Christmas market has been open, after Vanilla Ice officially opened it on Wednesday! 

And it is to be the first of many! The High Street has a very special vibe at the moment and the market, along with the Dickens' festival, is providing a welcome supply of excitement during the Xmas countdown!

It's definitely worth a visit and the sight of the Christmas lights outlining the paths, trees and the cabin-style market stalls is wonderful..

You can shop, visit the fairground and treat yourself to some naughty Christmas goodies!

The market and High Street together are a magical destination for not only your Christmas shopping, but also for a memorable day out!

Whether you are a fan of Dickens', wish to indulge in an Xmas food-fest, need to shop for gifts or just want that Christmas excitement, Rochester's Christmas Market is perfect!

New brands for Summer 2011

We have been very busy, beavering away to find new brands for Kiss Kiss Heart.  And we have done really well!  Traffic People make awesome dresses for special occasions the reaction has been really good so far, the Rule Britannia Bead Dress, Red has sold out!  But we have managed to get more stock (just a few pieces of The Follies, Blessings Dress and the Flaming Flamingos, Lou Lou Dress) The Flaming Flamingos dress is awesome, I have one and I love it!

French perfume and body products made in Grasse, Provence and sold in Kiss Kiss Heart, Rochester

We have a new range of body products for sale in Kiss Kiss Heart, Rochester.  They are proving to be really popular!  They are made by a french company called Lothantique, situated in Grasse, Provence.  The quality is awesome and the scents divine.  I have a small obsession with french fragrances, especially this type, where the flowers used are all local and the price is wonderfully cheap and the quality absolutely outstanding.  On top of this the packaging is simple and classic.  

A little history about the company:

Our story began in the 1920's in the town of Chateauneuf Val-Saint-Donat, which lies at the foot of the lavender covered Lure Mountain. It was there that The Mouranchon Brothers Co., a distillery of aromatic plants, was born. Over time, through the vision and determination of Joséphine, the Mouranchon family's leader and matriarch, the family business expanded from lavender essential oil to include the making of lavender sachets, soaps and eaux de toilettes.

In 1987, Joséphine's grandchildren, Dominique and Denis Vogade re-launched the family business. Inspired by the work of Pagnol, especially his ability to bring to life the fragrance of a flower through words, they called their company LOTHANTIQUE.

Like Joséphine, the Vogades' vision, determination, and know-how led to success in Europe and in 1998 the company formed a subsidiary in the United States: Lothantique Inc.

Currently, Lothantique has 40 employees and has moved into its current premises in Peyruis.  Enriched by its history, our company cherishes its philosophy of uniting tradition and modernism and applying the practices of Haute-Provence to current advances in technology and skin care.

Lothantique products are formulated with environmental consciousness.  By using recyclable packaging, tracking wastes and respecting nature, both plant and animal life, we contribute to a safer world in which we as human beings can be proud to live in!

All of these products and more (including a lovely wooden display containing 12 beautiful floral and spicy fragrances) are available in Kiss Kiss Heart, 63 High Street, Rochester, Kent.  Prices start at £3.50 for Provencal soaps and they go up to £17.99 for 100ml fragrances, which are luxuriously feminine, once sniffed you will be hooked!
